This battery-operated igniter creates a spark to ignite the gas when the button is pressed, providing a simple and efficient way to start your outdoor fire.
One of the key factors for a successful installation is ensuring a proper ground. You must securely screw the igniter bracket directly onto the burner pan to establish a solid ground connection. Additionally, it is recommended to keep the igniter area relatively clear of embers, rocks, fire glass, and other debris. By creating a void around the igniter using a screen, you can allow the gas to fill this space and ignite more easily compared to an igniter covered by fire glass or other materials.
The stainless steel face plate provides a professional-looking mounting solution for both the push-button and the chrome-keyed shut-off ball valve, giving your fire pit or fireplace a sleek and polished appearance.
For installation, you will need to run both wires up through the pan from the bottom, using any pre-existing hole. Mount the sparker as close as possible to one of the outer gas holes, as the key to a good spark is a proper ground. Ensure that you sandwich one wire between the pan and the bracket to establish the ground connection. The other wire ends connect to the push-button block. Once the battery is inserted, simply push the button to ignite the gas.
The dimensions of the face plate are 7" L x 3 13/16" H, while the base plate measures 7" L x 3 13/16" H. The kit includes a chrome ball valve with a 3" chrome key, a spark ignitor with leads and a ground wire, and a stainless steel mounting plate.
The ball valve features a 1/2" female NPT inlet and outlet, and the kit also includes two 3/8" male flared x 1/2" NPT fittings for your convenience. This easy-to-install solution is perfect for your DIY gas fire pit project, but it's important to note that a AAA battery is not included and will need to be purchased separately.
