For round fire pits, the formula is: Diameter (A) x Diameter (A) x Glass Depth (B) / 24 = Glass (lbs.). We recommend a minimum of 2 inches of fire glass depth for most installations.
For rectangular fire pits, the formula is: Width (A) x Fireplace Depth (B) x Glass Depth (C) / 19 = Glass (lbs.). Again, we recommend a minimum of 2 inches of fire glass depth.
For square fire pits, the formula is: Width (A) x Width (A) x Glass Depth (B) / 19 = Glass (lbs.), with a recommended minimum of 2 inches of depth.
For fireplaces, the formula is: (Front Width (A) + Back Width (B)) / 2 x Fireplace Depth (C) x Glass Depth (D) / 19 = Glass (lbs.). We suggest a depth of 2 to 4 inches for most fireplaces, and for rectangular and square fireplaces, the front and back widths should be the same.
